Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Accountabilities

• Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
• Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.

Join us as a Reporting PySpark/AWS Analyst, to play a key role in delivering the high‑quality reporting and data solutions that support clear, informed actions across the organisation. In this role, you’ll design and optimise data pipelines, prepare structured datasets, and build reporting outputs that enable consistent, accessible and meaningful insights. Working primarily within the credit card business area, you will translate business needs into technical solutions, collaborate closely with stakeholders, and help ensure the reliability and usability of reporting. As the function develops, you will also have opportunities to contribute to new data and reporting work across other areas.

To be successful as a Reporting PySpark/AWS Analyst, you should have experience with:

• Designing, building and optimising cloud‑based data pipelines using PySpark, AWS, Snowflake and DBT.
• Developing efficient, well‑structured data models that support accurate and reliable reporting.
• Writing, refining and optimising SQL queries to ensure performance and maintainability across large datasets.
• Engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements, ensure alignment and enable the effective delivery of reporting solutions.
  

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Experience delivering reporting solutions using Snowflake, DBT and AWS‑based data warehouse environments.
• Ability to prepare and structure datasets for reporting, including developing clear and effective Tableau dashboards.
• Understanding of financial or banking domains—particularly credit cards—along with familiarity with Barclays data platforms, data practices and regulatory considerations to support robust reporting delivery.
