Within Technology and Innovation, the One Government Experience (1GX) Centre of Excellence (COE) branch provides transformational leadership to support and enable the shift to a One Government approach to corporate services across the Government of Alberta including the Independent Legislative Offices (ILO) through managing the implementation and ongoing operations of the enterprise resource planning system.
Within the 1GX COE branch, the Information and Business Excellence team ensures that the master data within 1GX is accurate to ensure that end users are working with the correct information.

We're looking for talented and detail-oriented data focused Reporting and Analytics Analysts to join our dynamic team. If you have a passion for data, a client-driven mindset, and a knack for problem-solving, this role is perfect for you. This role will also support enterprise data visualization, reporting, and Cloudera based dashboard functions.

Responsibilities:
The Primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Cloudera & Enterprise Dashboard Support:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and requirements.
• Developing and maintaining dashboards using Cloudera Data Visualization
• Working with Oracle SQL queries and converting them to Hue/Impala SQL for CDV compatibility.
• Using JavaScript to build custom CDV dashboards and enhance interactivity.
• Understand the impacts of system changes, then review existing dashboards and reports to ensure remain accurate, functional, and aligned with current data structures
Data Analysis:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and requirements.
• Extract and transform data from various sources with a primary focus on 1GX through the use of tools such as Query Manager 4, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Datasphere and SuccessFactors
Story Reporting.
• Perform in-depth data analysis to identify data trends, patterns and anomalies.
• Review data dictionaries to understand the impacts of system changes.
Report Development:
• Design and develop comprehensive reports and dashboards using industry-standard reporting tools.
• Ensure that reports are accurate, timely and easy to understand.
• Create interactive visualizations to effectively communicate and present data insights.
• Receive and complete Service Requests relating to developing or enhancing reports.
• Maintain and update existing reports to align with business or system needs and document changes to reports.
Data Governance:
• Help the Master Data Management team maintain data quality and integrity.
• Implement data governance standards and best practices.
Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, supply chain management, human capital management and payroll.
AI-Enabled Work Practices:
• Apply AI enabled tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, SAC AI functions, or data assisted analytics features) to enhance analysis, quality checks, documentation, and visualization.
• Demonstrate openness to learning and integrating emerging AI‑supported capabilities into daily work.

AI-First Mindset:
While prior experience with AI is not required, we are seeking candidates who are curious about new technologies, eager to learn AI-enhanced testing tools, and enthusiastic about automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
In this role, AI may support automated testing, performance analysis, defect detection, and data-driven decision-making. Training and mentorship will be provided.
