Job Description

Wood has a fantastic opportunity for a Group Reporting Accountant to support with the delivery of the Group consolidation and the Group’s external financial reporting. This is an exciting role for candidates who are looking to increase their exposure to a full Group reporting cycle and to the OneStream implementation.

This role is based in our London office, with hybrid working of three days in the office and two remote a week.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Group Reporting Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of accurate and timely Group financial reporting. You will prepare the reconciliations, schedules, analysis, and supporting data that underpin the Group consolidation process, while contributing to the production of the Annual Report and monthly financial performance reviews.

Working closely with business unit finance teams and a broad range of Group finance stakeholders, you will be the first point of contact for routine reporting submissions and audit requests, helping to ensure the quality and integrity of financial information across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to develop expertise in group reporting within a complex, international business environment, with exposure to external auditors and senior finance leadership.

  • Preparing routine consolidation journals and supporting documentation for review
  • Preparing supporting schedules and assigned note disclosures for the Group Annual Report and interim financial statements
  • Preparing balance sheet and income statement variance analysis, and explaining movements for review
  • Compiling audit deliverables and prepared-by-client schedules, and responding to external auditor sample requests on assigned areas
  • Maintaining the Group reporting calendar, submission tracker and business unit contact list, and chasing outstanding submissions
  • Maintaining reporting process documentation and retaining evidence that reporting controls have operated
  • Supporting user acceptance testing and data validation for the OneStream implementation
  • Preparing ad hoc analysis and information requests for the Group Reporting and Consolidation team

Expected:

  • Qualified, part-qualified, finalist or newly qualified accountant (e.g. ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA) – study support will be available
  • Experience in a finance reporting, management accounting or audit role, ideally within a multi-entity or international group
  • Understanding of double entry, consolidation principles and intercompany accounting
  • Awareness of IFRS and a willingness to build technical knowledge on the job
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups, and comfort working with large data extracts
  • Ability to work to a fixed reporting timetable and to prioritise across competing requests
  • Clear written and verbal communication and able to communicate with colleagues across different cultures and multiple time zones
