Job Description

Tangentyere Constructions delivers Property Management and Trade

Repairs and Maintenance Works on the Alice Springs Town Camps and 22
Remote Communities.

Repairs and Maintenance Workers provide the first response
to repairs and maintenance issues reported by tenants and/or tenancy managers.

The work of the Repairs and Maintenance Worker includes inspection,
assessment, and completion of minor repairs under the direction of the Team
Leader. Work that requires trade qualified repairs and maintenance will be reported to the Team Leader.

As part of your role, you will be working with children, people with a disability and people who are vulnerable.
It is your obligation to always ensure their safety and report any concerns in
line with our duty of care obligations. We have zero tolerance when it comes to
abuse of any kind and will take disciplinary action, including and up to
termination of employment, should we determine that abuse has taken place or
there has been a failure to report any suspected or alleged abuse.

Responsibilities

  • ·Provide a first response for any tenants
    requiring repairs and maintenance work on their house.
  • ·Inspect the house to identify and assess required
    repairs and maintenance.
  • ·Undertake minor repairs and maintenance.
  • ·Report work that requires trade qualified repairs
    and maintenance to the Team Leader
  • ·Record, document and photograph all requests,
    work undertaken, and material used.
  • ·Observe and maintain Occupational Health and
    Safety.
  • ·Assist with achieving quality management
    objectives across the organisation.
  • ·Assist with achieving safeguarding objectives
    across the organisation.
  • ·Assist with achieving compliance objectives
    across the organisation.
  • ·Other reasonable duties as required.
  • Qualifications and Selection Criteria

    Required

    • ·Good spoken and written English.
    • ·Ability to work as part of a team and to follow
      directions.
    • ·Ability to work onsite without a supervisor
      present at times.
    • ·Ability and willingness to read and follow
      policies, procedures, and plans.
    • ·Previous building; repairs and maintenance; or
      essential services work.
    • ·Ability to obtain a White Card.
    • ·Current NT Drivers Licence, NT Working with
      Children (Ochre) Card, and a satisfactory Police Check.

    Desired

    • ·Ability to speak one or more local languages.
    • ·Certificate and/or training in building and
      construction.
    • ·Ability and willingness to attain a first aid
      certificate.
