Position Purpose
This position is responsible for performing advanced mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on construction and military equipment manufactured at JCB North America headquarters. The Repair Technician will support production by diagnosing defects, performing rework and retrofits, and ensuring finished products meet quality, safety, and performance standards in a heavy-duty manufacturing environment.
This role requires a certified, hands-on mechanic with strong troubleshooting capability and experience working on complex equipment systems.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic defects identified during or after assembly
• Perform rework, retrofits, and modifications to completed or partially assembled machines within the Assembly Repair area
• Conduct diagnostic testing using appropriate tools, equipment, and technical documentation
• Work closely with Quality and Assembly teams to provide real-time feedback and drive continuous improvement
• Accurately complete daily production and repair reports, documenting findings, and corrective actions
• Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety protocols
• Safely operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, lifts) as required
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to root cause analysis and defect elimination initiatives
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards
• Support production goals by responding quickly to repair needs to minimize downtime
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Required: Mechanic Certification (automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or equivalent technical certification)
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience repairing or assembling heavy equipment, machinery, or complex mechanical systems
• Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Must successfully pass technical and practical assessments covering mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic competencies
• Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, including drug screen, background check, and other applicable testing
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)
• Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications
• Technical degree or formal training in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Repair, or Industrial Maintenance
• 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty manufacturing, construction equipment, military vehicles, or similar industries
• Experience working with complex assemblies, final-line repair, or production rework environments
• Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and defect tracking
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions
• Proficiency using hand tools, pneumatic tools, diagnostic equipment, and material handling equipment
• Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and accuracy
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of urgency
• Flexibility to work overtime or varying schedules as production demands require
• Ability to safely wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times

• Must be able to work flexible schedule, including Friday - Sunday 6am -6pm

• Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities. These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
• Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
• Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
• Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
• Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
