JOBTheRepair Center Technician 2is responsible fortroubleshooting, repairing, andmaintainingCubic-supported equipment in both field and workshop environmentsOperates andmaintainsdigital and analog electronics devices, repairs and troubleshoots assemblies to the module components level.Assistsfield personnel in a variety of tasks at field sites. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reads and interprets complex schematics, part/wire lists, test procedures, engineering manuals, work orders, customer specifications.
Diagnoses,locates,troubleshootsmalfunction, and repairs as needed.
Sets up andoperateselectronic test equipment to perform complex operational,functionaland environmental tests on assemblies and sub-assemblies.
Participates in the prevention, detection, and treatment phases of corrosion control,maintainstools, equipment, supplies and kits for adequacy and availability toaccomplishthe necessary site maintenance.
Assistsfield personnel in the performance of their duties.
Performs housekeeping servicesofall system equipment and associated grounds.
Builds cable assemblies and performs other related duties asrequired
Performs technical and semi-technicaltasksnotalways electronic in nature
Maintainsappropriate recordsand documentation
Performs transportation of personnel, equipment, supplies, and spare parts between the various equipment locations
Provides feedback to supervision and planning on time restraints and productivity goals set by management
Possesses ability to understand verbal instructions to rework, repair, test, troubleshoot, andmaintainequipment andPCB’s
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires 1–2 years of related experience in an electronic related industry.
Must have through hole and surface mount components soldering skill.
Mustpossessexcellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in hectic and noisy environments.
Must be able to stand forlong periods, and ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to travel.
Strong organizational and communication skills with a growing ability to troubleshoot.
