Join our new office in Sofia as a Repair Cost Engineer. Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, this role is an integral part of the Technical and Compliance Team within the Company’s operations.
The Repair Cost Engineer is a specialist role that exists to ensure that aircraft component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activity is both technically sound and commercially optimised. Working closely with experienced Value Engineers, the Technical Services, Procurement, and Repairs team, and external repair Vendors, the role is responsible for challenging repair costs, analysing technical and commercial repair data, and supporting high-quality decisions across repair, replacement, BER, and market value scenarios.
Analyse repair costs and provide clear commercial recommendations (repair vs replace, BER, market value)
Review supplier quotations, teardown findings, and repair scopes
Support cost modelling and should-cost analysis with Value Engineering
Contribute to decisions on repair, overhaul, scrap, exchange, or alternative sourcing
Assess impact of modifications, reliability trends, and repair changes
Challenge supplier pricing and support negotiations using data-led insights
Identify opportunities to reduce repair costs and improve value outcomes
Support supplier performance reviews and contract evaluations
Monitor repair cost performance, identifying trends, risks, and variances
Provide data and insights to support decision-making and strategy
Contribute to process improvement and better use of systems, data, and automation tools
Srong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical and commercial data
Confident communicator able to present findings and challenge costs
High attention to detail with clear, structured recommendations
Commercial awareness with a focus on cost and value
Experience analysing data (Excel or similar tools) and working with large datasets
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across teams
Experience in aviation, MRO, engineering, or technical procurement environments
Understanding of aircraft component repair processes and cost drivers
Ability to interpret technical data (e.g. repair findings, manuals, quotations)
Knowledge of reliability concepts (e.g. MTBF/MTBUR)
Exposure to PBH contracts
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Quantum, AMOS)
