• Tasked with carrying out repairs to component level on a wide variety of electro-mechanical equipment used within the automated fare collection and ticketing industry. Supporting other areas of the business during upgrades to existing equipment, and development and rollout of new equipment.

• Repairs to component level on a wide range of electro-mechanical devices

• Dis assembly and re assembly using drawings and circuit diagrams

• Documenting all repairs on customer services databases

• Liaising with workshop management and other departments to deal with problems and inquiries

• Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System

• Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures

• Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations

• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder is required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time, as may be reasonably required of them.

Qualifications

Essential:

• ONC level qualification in an electro mechanical or mechanical discipline

• Desirable:

• HNC or HND in an engineering discipline with an electro mechanical or mechanical bias

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

• Previous experience in an electro-mechanical repair workshop or production environment

• Extensive experience in the use of hand tools & basic soldering equipment

• Experience in the test of electro mechanical assemblies using off the shelf and custom built test tools

Desirable:

• Previous experience with automatic revenue collection equipment and passenger control systems

• Some knowledge of using PC driven test tools, and software loading to devices

• Knowledge of ISO9001

• Able to work unsupervised, and as part of a strong team

• Computer literate – knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, and database systems

• Self-motivated

• Systematic and analytical approach to problems solving and fault finding
