Repair and Overhaul Shop Lead in GAC Savannah

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. FAA A&P license or be able to obtain a repairman certificate within 30 days of start date. 7 years experience in aircraft maintenance/aviation. Position PurposeUnder general supervision from management, plans and coordinates all tasks as assigned within the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul shops and provides daily status reports to management as necessary. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling tasks, assigning manpower, working across business units to solve problems, and resolving discrepancies. Report as required. to repair station leadership on performance metrics and other repair station operations as required.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
  1. Works within the Gulfstream Aerospace Service and Production environments to coordinate all physical and regulatory requirements related to aircraft and/or aircraft component maintenance.
  2. Reviews work performed and ensures completion of applicable forms and records necessary for compliance with Repair Station regulatory requirements and Corporate Standards.
  3. Plans, schedules, and arranges completion of tasks in order to meet all MRO schedules.
  4. Arranges technical training as required. and ensures applicable PQL qualifications are kept current for subordinates.
  5. Provides input to performance appraisals to area management for review.
  6. Applies 6S and Lean Initiatives to ensure shops are meeting production requirements, work areas remain clean, uncluttered, and safe.
  7. Leads and instructs shop personnel in proper procedures and techniques.
  8. Ensures all work performed by assigned team complies with all required. documentation including Component Maintenance Manuals, drawings, blueprints, Computerized Maintenance Procedures, and all other applicable required. documentation.
  9. Support process improvement through lean initiatives and other tools to enhance efficiency, safety, and production.
  10. Ensure assigned team maintains and uses all required. paperwork in accordance with FAA Repair Station requirements.
  11. Ensure assigned team complies with all company and legislative environmental health and safety regulations.
  12. Identifies and resolves gaps within processes to ensure continuity of operations within the framework of repair station requirements.
Additional Functions:
  1. Evaluates workload, actual and projected schedule, parts availability, current and estimated manpower to determine adjustments to manpower requirements; makes manpower change recommendations to management. .
  2. Establishes and fosters an environment of innovation and Lean thinking. Uses and encourages use of Lean tools and techniques to improve safety and repair processes, increase efficiency, and realize cost savings. .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
  1. Must have demonstrated leadership ability and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Ability to read and interpret all required. maintenance and regulatory docs.
  3. Must demonstrate expertise in operating all tools, test equipment and/or material handling equipment relevant to the area or responsibility.
  4. Must be able to operate specialized tooling.
  5. Must process good understanding of shop math.
  6. Must be proficient in use of commercial and proprietary software packages and apps.
  7. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
