Job Description

The Repair & Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in the hands-on inspection, repair, and maintenance of Weatherford's field tools and equipment. Utilizing the company's facilities, machinery, and systems, the technician applies intermediate-level techniques and practices to carry out tasks related to the full scope of equipment maintenance. This includes receiving, dismantling, repairing, refurbishing, and preparing tools for their next assignment, in accordance with technical manuals, work instructions, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for receiving, disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and refurbishing a variety of field tools from different product lines BHE, Ardyne, Casing Exist, Impact Tools and PCE, examples of BHE - reamers, Jetstream's, URCM's. Ardyne - DHPT, variety of safety valves and joints, Trident line of equipment. Casing Exists - whipstocks and all associated equipment. Impact Tools - drilling and fishing jars. PCE - Accumulators. Cross training will be critical aspect of the role and must be able to adapt for critical jobs to provide and
  • meet deliveries and customer requirements.
  • Safety & Quality understand and implement Weatherford policies and requirements
  • Follow technical manuals, procedures, and work instructions
  • Inspect tools and equipment for issues and perform necessary maintenance and repairs
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with tools and equipment
  • Monitor equipment performance and conduct quality control analysis
  • Prepare tools and equipment for assembly, repair, or modifications
  • Basic understanding of 5S methodology

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years of related experience in a manufacturing/repair and maintenance environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic operational knowledge of overhead and jib crane, forklift, and materials handling equipment
  • Pressure testing knowledge
  • Ability to follow established procedures for equipment repair and maintenance, with growing independence in handling more complex tasks
  • Basic mathematics understanding for measurements and equipment maintenance
  • Independently performs intermediate-level maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of equipment with minimal supervision
  • Applies critical thinking to independently solve intermediate problems
  • Confidently reads and interprets technical manuals, procedures, and safety documentation
  • Creates detailed and accurate maintenance reports and work orders, ensuring compliance with company documentation standards
  • Meets the physical demands of the role, including manual handling and operating advanced tools and machinery
  • Proactively identifies potential issues during maintenance and repair tasks, taking immediate action where possible and escalating more complex issues to supervisors with proposed solutions
  • Solid understanding of how tools and equipment should be assembled, repaired, or modified
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, effectively interacting with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational skills

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certifications

  • Not required but beneficial
