Join Weatherford as a Repair and Maintenance Technician and play a vital role in maintaining our field tools and equipment. You'll perform hands-on inspection, repair, and maintenance work using our state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. This position involves the complete lifecycle of tool service, from receiving and dismantling to repairing, refurbishing, and preparing equipment for its next field assignment. Working with technical manuals and procedures, you'll ensure our tools meet the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Disassemble, clean, inspect, pressure test, paint, assemble, and store field tools following established procedures; repair machines and equipment using hand tools, hoists, cranes, drills, and precision measuring instruments
Quality Control: Inspect used parts and determine dimensional requirements using calipers, micrometers, and measuring instruments; ensure all equipment meets required standards before deployment
Documentation & Compliance: Complete AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists, and work orders; accurately track time in the Work Order system; maintain compliance with all HSE policies and quality management systems
Material Handling: Operate forklifts and cranes (certification required) to safely move equipment; manage incoming shipments and prepare outbound shipments with accurate documentation
Safety Leadership: Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Job Hazard Analysis; maintain work areas in safe, presentable condition; report issues promptly using appropriate channels
Continuous Improvement: Support LEAN initiatives and participate in facility efficiency improvement programs; identify potential problems and implement solutions
Senior Level Responsibilities: Lead R&M teams, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, distribute work assignments, and ensure team compliance with standard operating procedures
Skills and Education
2-4+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
High School Diploma
Basic mathematics and computer skills
Experience working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements, and explosives
Knowledge of NDT, NDE, and ATEX policies and principles
Proficiency in equipment maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and monitoring
Critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and active learning abilities
Strong reading, writing, and communication skills
Quality control analysis and time management capabilities
Ability to diagnose issues with tools and equipment (senior roles)
Physical capability to meet the demands of the role
Spatial reasoning for assembly, repair, and modification work
Travel Requirement: Domestic and potentially international travel up to 10%
