Job Description

The Repair and Maintenance Fishing Supervisor for Intervention Services & Downhole Tools (ISDT) is responsible for overseeing all workshop operations, ensuring efficient maintenance, repair, and quality control of downhole tools including Mills, Stabilizers, Wash Pipes, Drilling Jars, and other fishing equipment. This role provides leadership to R&M Technicians while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence in accordance with company guidelines and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ISDT workshop operations based on operational requirements, ensuring optimal workflow and resource allocation.
  • Lead and monitor the maintenance process and maintenance workflow to ensure operational demands are met with high service quality and efficiency.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for downhole tools and equipment.
  • Improve the reliability and efficiency of maintenance processes and workshop workflows.
  • Ensure timely delivery of repaired and maintained tools to meet operational schedules.
  • Manage equipment lifecycle to optimize maintenance costs and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to R&M Technicians and workshop personnel.
  • Oversee quality control processes for all maintenance and repair work.
  • Support maintenance and repair activities related to fishing tools, drilling jars, mills, stabilizers, wash pipes, and other downhole equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Implement and monitor quality control standards for all workshop activities.
  • Maintain proper documentation and reporting for HSE incidents and near-misses.
  • Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and radioactive elements.
  • Develop and enhance R&M program strategies and solutions to support both short-term operational objectives and long-term company goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the ISDT department.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and performance.
  • Document and standardize best practices across the workshop.
  • Promote a culture of learning and knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop R&M Technicians and other workshop personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate skill development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels to meet operational demands.

Skills

  • Strong fishing operations knowledge and hands-on fishing tool maintenance experience.
  • Proven experience with Drilling Jars and Downhole Tools maintenance and repair.
  • Strong workshop management and maintenance workflow management capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and diagnostic skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Experience in HSE management and quality control processes.
  • Proficiency in budget management and cost control.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of fishing and Drilling Jar (DH) experience within a workshop environment, including workshop management responsibilities.
  • Education: Engineering Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Fishing Operations, Drilling Jars, and Downhole Tools.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of downhole tools, maintenance procedures, and fishing operations.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated supervisory experience in a technical workshop environment.
