Join our Payroll team as a Payroll Shared Services Representative and help ensure Staples associates are paid accurately and on time. In this role, you will apply multi-state payroll and time and attendance knowledge to resolve requests, support field leaders, and serve as a trusted connection between business teams and Corporate Payroll.

What you will be doing:

You will play an important role in delivering accurate, responsive payroll support across assigned lines of business. Key responsibilities include:

• Process ServiceNow requests from HR Services, business partners, and field Payroll Administrators while meeting SLAs.
• Manage payroll and time and attendance queues, monitor tickets, close completed submissions, and flag workload or processing concerns.
• Maintain direct deposit information, investigate inquiries, process ACH reversals, and resolve daily ACH kickbacks.
• Process retro merit payments, payroll adjustments, overpayments, and daily off-cycle payments per state requirements.
• Process termination pay per state laws and company policy.
• Enter PTO/UTO, update schedules, correct punches, and maintain Kronos attendance records.
• Answer payroll and time and attendance questions, resolving or escalating issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate payroll and time and attendance records in line with HR policies and procedures.
• Train new and existing field management on time and attendance processes.
• Partner with HR, HR Services, Kronos, and stakeholders to escalate issues, share trends, and review best practices.
• Analyze complex payroll issues to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Run queries, audits, HR Connect reports, Kronos reports, and genies to validate data and support projects or requests.
• Complete special projects assigned by department management.

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of payroll processing and administration experience, including multi-state federal and state payroll requirements.
• Experience using payroll software and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or SAP.
• Advanced Excel experience, including creating and manipulating complex spreadsheets.
• Experience using Oracle HCM or Kronos, including navigating the systems and troubleshooting issues.
• Experience with international payroll regulations and processes.
