Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rugby to assist with the appointment of a Renters Rights Act Project Officer, on a 6-month contract,highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £15.58 - £19.74 per hour

The Renters Rights Act Projects Officer will lead and support the mobilisation and implementation of the Councils statutory duties under the Renters Rights Act 2025 The role focuses on establishing systems, processes, governance structures, and data arrangements for the regulation of the Private Rented Sector (PRS).

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and manage projects relating to the implementation of the Renters Rights Act using appropriate project management methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including project plans, risk logs, issue registers, and progress reports.
  • Design and document PRS enforcement and investigatory workflows, including escalation processes and decision points.
  • Support the development of compliant regulatory processes including civil penalties, prosecutions and evidential standards.
  • Lead the development of data capture, reporting and recording processes in preparation for national PRS database and ombudsman requirements.
  • Work closely with ICT, Digital and Data teams to identify system requirements and ensure integration with council systems.

Essentials

  • Experience managing or supporting projects within regulatory, digital, transformation or service improvement environments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience developing systems, processes or workflows to support statutory or compliance-based functions.
  • Understanding of the Renters Rights Act 2025 and associated regulatory, digital or data concepts.
  • Knowledge of information governance, data protection and risk management when handling sensitive information.
