The Rental Depot Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading inbound receiving, depot operations, laundry and decontamination activities, outbound dispatch, inventory control, ERP/WMS transaction accuracy, quality compliance and people management. The role ensures that rental assets move efficiently through the full asset lifecycle from return, inspection and cleaning through to storage, dispatch and customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

People Management

  • Lead and manage Rental Technicians, Laundry Operators and Depot Support Staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching and development plans.
  • Manage attendance, productivity, discipline and corrective action processes.
  • Establish KPIs across receiving, dispatch and laundry operations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications & Experience

Inbound Receiving & Inventory Management

  • Manage all inbound receiving activities for returned rental equipment and consumables.
  • Ensure equipment is inspected, recorded and routed through cleaning and decontamination processes.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock audits.
  • Investigate discrepancies, shortages and damaged equipment.
  • Ensure all inventory transactions are processed accurately in ERP/WMS systems.

Depot Operations & Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Manage daily depot operations including receiving, laundry, decontamination, inspection, storage and dispatch preparation.
  • Coordinate movement of assets between receiving laundry, repair and storage areas.
  • Monitor turnaround times from returned equipment to dispatch-ready status.
  • Maintain depot housekeeping, organisation and safety standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance equipment availability and depot productivity.

Outbound Dispatch & Logistics

  • Manage daily dispatch planning and execution.
  • Ensure all equipment has completed cleaning, inspection and quality release processes before dispatch.
  • Management of vehicles, scheduling and route planning.
  • Monitor dispatch accuracy and service levels.
  • Monitor delivery performance against customer SLA requirements.
  • Resolve operational bottlenecks affecting customer deliveries.

ERP / WMS Systems Management

  • Maintain accurate system visibility of assets through receiving laundry, repair, storage and dispatch processes.
  • Ensure all status changes are processed correctly in ERP/WMS systems.
  • Generate operational KPI reports and dashboards.
  • Drive transactional discipline and system compliance throughout the depot.

Quality Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all Quality Management System requirements, SOPs and work instructions.
  • Ensure laundry and decontamination processes meet required hygiene and quality standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections of inbound, cleaned and outbound equipment.
  • Support internal and external audits and corrective action activities.
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready operational documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualification in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Business or related field.
  • Advanced ERP/WMS experience.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills. (MS Excel)
  • Quality Mindset
  • Attention to detail & Good Track Record in execution of tasks
  • Skills & Attributes
  • Demonstrated experience in performance management, disciplinary processes, managing workloads and maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience managing receiving, dispatch, inventory control and depot operations.
  • 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in warehousing, logistics, depot operations, distribution, administrative or rental operations.
