Job Description

Level Entry Job Location Various Park District Locations - IL 60035 Position Type Part Time Salary Range $18.00 - $18.00 Hourly

Under the supervision of the Manager of District-Wide Rentals & Memberships, the Rental Attendant is responsible for greeting and providing the public with information regarding their rental and the facility. Rental Attendants should possess good interpersonal skills and be comfortable working independently.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Secure District facilities upon opening or closing, including but not limited to lights, doors, securing park gates, etc.
  • Enforce rules and proper usage of facilities.
  • Greet all visitors courteously, attend to their needs, and provide them with appropriate information.
  • Perform basic custodial duties to maintain lobby, rental/program space, kitchen, and bathrooms for public and rental use.
  • Perform setup of rental space, including but not limited to tables and chairs, as depicted by floor plan.
  • Check and restock supplies, as needed, including bathrooms and first aid kits.
  • Responsible for making sure all trash is in the correct receptacles at the end of the rental.
  • Complete applicable facility checklist at the end of the rental to determine if deposit should be returned.
  • Notify Supervisor immediately if there is a concern that could affect the facility or next rental.
  • Ensure sidewalk and entrance areas are free of debris, snow, and/or ice. Shoveling may be required.
  • Responsible for completing Incident/Accident Reports, as needed.
  • Know and follow emergency action procedures; assist others in emergency situations.
  • Perform other Park District related duties, as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.



Qualifications

Education and/or

Experience:
Must be at least 16 years of age. Computer literacy with knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with cash handling.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Schedule: As needed based on rental schedules.

Classification: Part-time, non-exempt

Benefits: May be eligible to use District facilities and programs at a reduced rate.
