Job Title: Remote Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Frontend-Leaning (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America
Position Type: Full-time
Salary$4,000 - 6,500 USD/month depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Time

Our client operates two fast-growing, early-stage AI companies at the forefront of innovation—one focused on AI-powered video tools and the other on healthcare AI solutions for insurance verification.
We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer - Frontend Leaning who can do more than ship tickets. We want someone who has owned projects end-to-end, can lead technical execution, and can raise the bar through strong communication, sound judgment, and mentoring.

Responsibilities:

Technical Ownership & Leadership (Core to This Role)

  • Own projects from start to finish: clarify requirements, propose solutions, align stakeholders, execute, and ship
  • Break down ambiguous problems into clear milestones and drive delivery
  • Identify risks early and proactively resolve blockers
  • Lead technical direction within your domain: set standards, guide architecture, and make pragmatic tradeoffs
  • Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, code reviews, coaching, and unblocking
  • Communicate clearly and proactively: document decisions (ADRs/specs), share progress updates, and align cross-functional teams

Hands-On Full-Stack Development

Frontend

  • Build and maintain product features using React + TypeScript
  • Contribute to Vue-based components when needed
  • Apply strong component architecture principles
  • Deliver polished, scalable UI experiences

Backend

  • Design and implement backend services using Python/Django (or FastAPI/Flask) and/or Node.js
  • Build and consume REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Implement real-time features using WebSockets or streaming patterns
  • Develop backend logic, data models, and integrations using:
    • PostgreSQL
    • Redis
    • Celery or background processing systems

Infrastructure & Delivery

  • Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security across the stack
  • Contribute to Docker-based development workflows
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments

Bonus Domain: AI / LLM Work (Highly Desirable)

  • Integrate LLM workflows and AI tooling (e.g., OpenAI APIs, LangChain, Hugging Face)
  • Build production-grade AI features with attention to:
    • Latency
    • Observability
    • Cost management
    • Safety and guardrails

Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • 5+ years building production web applications in a full-stack capacity (frontend-leaning is ideal)
  • Expert-level React + TypeScript experience
  • Strong backend experience with Python/Django (or FastAPI/Flask)
  • Solid understanding of:
    • REST & GraphQL API design
    • Authentication & authorization patterns
    • Real-time systems (WebSockets, streaming)
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, data modeling, and performance tuning
  • Experience working with Docker and containerized development
  • Availability during 9am–5pm Pacific Time core hours
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

We are specifically looking for candidates who can demonstrate that they have:

  • Led complex projects with multiple moving parts and shipped them end-to-end
  • Owned system design decisions and navigated tradeoffs across engineering, product, and operations
  • Coordinated or mentored other developers (delegation, reviews, unblocking, technical direction)
  • Built credibility through consistent delivery, clean execution, and thoughtful communication

This role requires both execution and leadership maturity.

Nice to Haves:
  • Go (Golang) for backend services
  • Infrastructure/DevOps experience (AWS, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability tooling)
  • Messaging and streaming systems (Kafka, Redis Streams, background job architectures)
  • UI/UX polish (TailwindCSS, Material UI, Framer Motion, design systems)
  • Shipping AI/LLM features beyond prototypes (evaluations, prompt/versioning systems, monitoring, cost controls)
