Job Title: Remote Mobile App Developer (React Native / Expo) (100% Work From Home)


Location: Remote from Latin America
Position Type: Full-time
Salary$6,000 – $10,000 USD/month

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Full-Time. Ideally at least 4 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time (ET).

About the Role


Our Client is seeking a Senior Mobile App Developer with deep expertise in React Native and Expo to take ownership of their mobile ecosystem. As the foundational member of a growing mobile team, this individual will have a significant influence on architectural patterns, technical direction, and shipping standards. The role involves building apps that must remain fully functional in areas with poor connectivity, making offline-first architecture and complex data synchronization a core part of the daily challenge. This is a high-autonomy position for a developer who can ship end-to-end features with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Architecture

  • Designs, develops, and maintains cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and Expo

  • Leads architectural decisions for new greenfield projects and evolves existing patterns in current codebases.

  • Implements sophisticated data caching and synchronization strategies for reliable offline-first functionality.

  • Optimizes app performance, security, and usability across a wide range of iOS and Android devices.

Integrations & Backend Collaboration

  • Integrates mobile applications with existing backend APIs, a custom production management system, and HubSpot CRM

  • Partners with backend engineers and product managers to design efficient data models and API contracts.

  • Utilizes Supabase features, including Realtime subscriptions, Edge Functions, and Row-Level Security.

Release & Quality Engineering

  • Owns the entire release cadence, including versioning, internal/beta/production build channels, and TestFlight/Play Store testing.

  • Writes clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while participating in rigorous code reviews.

  • Monitors app health using tools like Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics and manages crash triage and release-health reporting.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Roughly 4+ years of production experience building mobile applications with React Native

  • Technical Mastery: Strong TypeScript, React hooks, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).

  • Framework Expertise: Hands-on experience with Expo across build, deployment, and device management.

  • Offline-First Knowledge: Experience designing architectures for offline use, including local storage ( SQLite, MMKV, WatermelonDB), background sync, and conflict resolution.

  • Data & State: Proficiency with TanStack Query (preferred) and lightweight state management libraries like Zustand

  • Backend: Experience with Supabase (Realtime, Edge Functions, RLS, Storage).

  • Testing: Comfort with mobile testing (Vitest, React Testing Library) and end-to-end testing (Detox).


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Platforms: Experience with EAS (Expo Application Services), React Native New Architecture (Fabric/TurboModules), and Expo Router.

  • Modern Tooling: Familiarity with tRPC, Drizzle ORM, Zod, Bun, and Monorepo tooling (Turborepo/Nx).

  • UI/UX: Experience with NativeWind/Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui-style component primitives.

  • Domain Features: Experience with maps (clustering/location), push notifications, and background tracking.
