Job Title: Remote Financial Controller (100% Work From Home)
Location: Remote from Latin America
Position Type: Full-time
Salary$4,200 USD/month
Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible but within business hours Eastern Time
The Controller oversees the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role manages monthly closes, reconciliations, AP/AR, and bookkeeping, coordinates with CPAs for tax filings, maintains KPI dashboards, implements controls and improvements, and provides actionable financial insights to executives, requiring someone organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate close of monthly financials across all entities and review related packages, reconciliations, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee AP/AR, reconciliations, and bookkeeping work prepared by Finance Associates and bookkeepers (U.S. & abroad), setting standards and holding the team accountable.
- Collaborate with Owners on legal paperwork, compliance filings, and investor documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with U.S.-based CPAs for tax planning and filings and serve as liaison for legal and compliance matters related to financial operations.
- Oversee KPI dashboards and financial reporting, auditing for accuracy, integrity, and actionable insights.
- Implement financial controls, policies, and system improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide executives and investors with timely financial reports, updates, and strategic insights.
- Collaborate with the CFO on KPI modeling, financial analysis, and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:
- 5+ years in accounting/finance roles, preferably in real estate, construction, or investment management; CPA or equivalent preferred
- Proven experience managing bookkeepers or finance teams, ensuring accuracy and accountability
- Advanced Excel/Sheets and accounting software skills; detail-oriented, process-driven, and able to meet tight deadlines
Key Metrics
- ≤2% error rate in monthly financial reporting
- 100% of monthly closes completed by the 15th of each month
- 90%+ of tax filings completed by March 31 each year
- ≤3 business days to deliver consolidated financial reports after month-end close
- 100% of KPI dashboards updated and verified monthly
- Minimum 1 process/system improvement implemented per month
- 100% of Finance Associate work reviewed and quality checked within required timelines
- 100% of investor and legal communications completed on schedule
