Job Description

Are you a creative cook with a flair for healthy food, who also loves working directly with children? We are seeking a multi-talented individual to join our friendly team at Kindercare Aotea in a flexible, casual reliever role.

This unique position allows you to step in as our Reliever Cook to prepare nutritious vegetarian meals, while also having the availability to work as a Reliever Teacher alongside our teaching team when needed. If you want a rewarding, energetic role with no evening or weekend work, this is the perfect fit!

What We Offer:

As our Reliever Cook, you will be:

  • Competent in preparing, cooking, and serving healthy vegetarian meals that children love, following our recipes.

  • Able to safely meet the specific dietary and allergy requirements of children.

  • Committed to the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, and policies.

  • Willing to take care of some light cleaning and laundry tasks as required.

  • Flexibility to travel and work across any of our Wellington centres.

As our Reliever Teacher, you will bring:

  • A warm, caring nature to cherish and support the children in our care.

  • Flexibility and enthusiasm when working with different age groups.

  • A collaborative spirit to work alongside our qualified Teachers.

  • A cheerful multi-tasker with excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Flexibility to work up to 8 hours a day when needed, often at short notice or during school holidays.

  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.

  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

  • Willingness to undergo police vetting.
