He aha te tūranga - About the role:

Our Retail Stores play a vital role in the organisation, providing a hub for the community, a way to offer items a second life at a reasonable price and generate much needed funds for the services we provide.

We are looking for someone who shares this vision and who is experienced in retail, used to looking after a busy store and is comfortable leading a team of volunteers whilst covering for our Edgeware Store Manager on an as and when needed basis.

This casual role offers flexibility, the ability to build on your experience and learn new skills.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting store manager in operations and achieving the shop’s revenue targets
  • Sorting donations and restocking shelves
  • Maintaining store displays and cleanliness
  • Collaborating with the manager to price goods appropriately
  • Encouraging and supporting exceptional customer service
  • Leading and motivating our team of volunteers

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Good experience in retail and interest in second-hand goods
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers
  • Some management experience.
  • Customer focused with a "can-do" attitude
  • Organised with an eye for detail
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be physically fit as you will be on your feet all day and lifting and carrying donations.
  • The role is 80% mahi and 20% support and 100% rewarding.
