💰 Pay: £12.60 - £13.80
📅 Hours: Guaranteed 48 hours (covering days, nights and weekends)

As a Relief Security Officer, you’ll deliver essential protection across a variety of locations, ensuring the safety of people, property and assets while demonstrating Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness. From monitoring CCTV and alarms to carrying out patrols and managing access control, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining secure, well‑organised environments wherever you’re assigned.

This position is perfect for an enthusiastic, fast‑learning driver who enjoys variety and adapts confidently to new surroundings. You’ll use your Relief Security Officer experience to respond to incidents, follow strict health and safety procedures, complete accurate reports and provide exceptional support to staff, contractors and visitors. What you'll be doing:

• Provide security services across multiple sites within a defined geographical area, protecting people, property, and assets.
• Prevent unauthorised access, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, and conduct thorough internal and external patrols.
• Manage keys, oversee locking/unlocking procedures, and perform routine tests on security equipment.
• Control site traffic, enforce parking rules, and maintain accurate logs, records, and visitor/contractor passes.
• Support staff, visitors, and contractors while ensuring full compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Respond to emergencies, fire alarms, hazards, and incidents, reporting accurately both verbally and in writing.
• Operate radios, stop‑and‑search procedures, and other site‑specific security equipment to deter crime.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional appearance and handling enquiries confidently.
• Complete shift check‑ins, paperwork, and handovers in line with company policy; adapt to varied site requirements.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A valid SIA licence. (Although Securitas UK are able to provide training (funded by us) should you be interested in joining the world of Security!)
• A full UK driving licence and own transport.
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.
• To be available as and when called upon to cover shifts, occasionally at short notice.
• Be willing and able to work shifts covering days, nights and week-ends.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Be punctual and reliable
