Job Description

About Us

Join Discovery Parks, Australia’s largest owner and operator of holiday parks, in a truly unique relief role. As a Relief Manager, you’ll step in when needed to cover gaps and keep operations running smoothly while our permanent managers are away. This is not a fixed-location role – it’s about flexibility, travel, and stepping in to lead wherever the business requires support.

If you’re adaptable, hands-on, and thrive on variety, this role is all about plugging the gaps and making sure our parks continue to deliver great guest experiences.

Why you’ll love working with us

  • Explore and experience a range of incredible locations across Australia – from coastal escapes to outback adventures
  • Free on-site accommodation and utilities during assignments
  • Travel provided across the country
  • Gain exposure and career development within Australia’s largest park network
  • Support from a professional Adelaide-based head office
  • Discounts at 300+ Discovery Parks and G’day Group locations
  • Service recognition awards and Employee Assistance Program

About the role

This is a business needs-driven role – assignments are temporary, sometimes at short notice, and always based on where we need you most. You’ll rotate between parks, take the reins while managers are on leave, and hand back a smoothly operating park at the end of your assignment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily park operations including housekeeping, maintenance, reception, and guest services
  • Leading, training, and rostering park teams
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS and safety standards
  • Handling office administration and after-hours call-outs where required
  • Conducting thorough pre- and post-handover with Park Managers

Important note: Flexibility is essential. You won’t be able to select which parks you go to – assignments are allocated based on operational needs.

About you

You’re a confident, capable leader who can walk into a new environment, quickly earn trust, and keep things running without missing a beat. You thrive on problem-solving, guest interaction, and the challenge of stepping into new teams and locations.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in holiday parks, hospitality, or accommodation management
  • Flexibility to travel Australia-wide, including to remote locations
  • Excellent communication and people leadership skills
  • Confidence with property management systems such as RMS (preferred)
  • A current manual driver’s licence (essential)
  • Willingness to live on-site during each assignment

Before receiving a job offer, candidates must consent to a Federal Police Clearance for criminal records. Additionally, a valid Working with Children’s Check specific to the state is required.

This role may require heavy lifting (up to 20kg), kneeling, squatting, and working with chemicals and machinery.
