Job Description

Job Title: Reliability Technician

The Reliability Technician is responsible for supporting customers and internal teams in improving the reliability, availability, and performance of rotating equipment and industrial assets. This position performs condition monitoring activities, vibration analysis, inspections, data collection, and reliability assessments to identify equipment issues and recommend corrective actions that reduce downtime and optimize maintenance strategies.

The role works closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and reliability teams to ensure equipment health and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct condition monitoring activities, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, lubrication analysis, and visual inspections.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret equipment performance and condition data.
  • Identify failure patterns, defects, and reliability risks in industrial equipment.
  • Prepare technical reports and communicate findings and recommendations to customers and stakeholders.
  • Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and corrective action implementation.
  • Assist in the development and execution of predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor key reliability indicators and equipment performance trends.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to improve asset reliability and equipment availability.
  • Ensure all inspections and activities are completed in accordance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, inspection records, and service reports.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and training related to condition monitoring and maintenance best practices when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance, reliability, predictive maintenance, or condition monitoring.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, bearings, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and industrial machinery.
  • Understanding of predictive maintenance technologies and reliability methodologies.
  • Experience using condition monitoring tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in vibration analysis (ISO CAT I, CAT II, or equivalent).
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance management tools.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), FMEA, and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Familiarity with SKF Reliability Systems and condition monitoring solutions.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, mining, energy, or heavy industrial environments.
