The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Mobile Assets, the Superintendent: Mobile Equipment serves as the regional technical authority for mobile asset engineering and reliability across Gold Fields Australia.

In this pivotal role, you will be the architect of our preventive and predictive maintenance frameworks, ensuring that risk-based engineering practices are standardised and embedded across all operating sites.

You will drive operational continuity by translating high-level asset strategies into executable, world-class engineering standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design and implementation of standardised, risk‑based preventive maintenance strategies for mobile assets, aligned with OEM and operational requirements.
  • Drive technical leadership in reliability engineering by leading RCAs, identifying performance gaps and replicating best practices across the regional fleet.
  • Oversee the regional PdM framework, including remote health monitoring and abnormality response protocols, to proactively manage asset health and prevent failures.
  • Conduct engineering‑led lifecycle analysis, champion emerging technologies and optimise critical inventory holdings to ensure operational continuity.
  • Lead and coach a specialist reliability and condition monitoring team, act as the technical authority for mobile assets and provide insights on asset health, risks and improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (or related discipline), with post‑graduate Asset Management or Reliability qualifications highly regarded.
  • Extensive experience in mobile asset engineering, reliability or maintenance leadership within the mining and resources sector.
  • Deep knowledge of mobile asset lifecycles, advanced preventive and predictive maintenance (PdM) frameworks and condition monitoring programs, with a track record of standardising engineering practices across multiple sites.
  • Strong advocate for safety‑by‑design, integrating risk management into maintenance strategies and consistently championing safety values.
