We are currently building our in-house Reliability Lab staff and are looking for a talented Supervisor to join our team. If you are looking for a way to accelerate your career and be part of a great company, this may be the opportunity for you.

In this role you will have the opportunity to supervise a team of professional minded Test Engineers/Technicians conducting product validation testing, evaluations, and failure analysis.This position coordinates test project timing and resources along with team mentoring and growth. Additionally, the Lab Supervisor will be responsible for leading initiatives to expand the laboratory’s testing capabilities, including the assessment, justification, implementation, and qualification of new equipment, technologies, and test methodologies to enhance the lab’s service portfolio and support future business growth.

What You Will Do

  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate Test Engineers/Technicians. Coordinate daily work assignments and closely monitor the progress of projects.
  • Coordinate’s training and growth opportunities for direct reports. Maintain regular communication with individual direct reports.
  • Collaborates with other departmental Supervisors for lean process improvements and strategic directives.
  • Assess and coordinate projects with differing priorities and provides general directions to lab personnel involved in assigned projects.
  • Facilitate guidance relating to test set up, testing equipment such as microscopes, force test equipment, various electrical parameter measuring devices, temperature/humidity chambers, etc.
  • Ensures standard departmental work instruction/ best practices are adhered to.
  • Review test data summaries prepared by staff for completeness and accuracy.This includes sample preparation methods, test procedures, and equipment used to perform testing.
  • Understands, supports and contributes to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that department and Molex policies are followed.
  • Lead initiatives to expand laboratory testing capabilities by identifying, evaluating, justifying, and implementing new test methods, equipment, technologies, and services that support current and future business needs. Coordinate capability development projects through qualification, documentation, training, and operational deployment to ensure successful integration into laboratory operations.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an electronics, physics, or engineering field and 2 yrs experience in a Laboratory environment evaluating electrical components
  • Or an associate degree or Technical Certification with 5 years of professional experience in a laboratory environment evaluating electrical components
  • And 2 or more years of relevant leadership activity
  • Proven supervisory/management skills to effectively manage a technical team.
  • Proven project management skills to manage and complete several large projects simultaneously which require support from several different sources.
  • Strong computer skills.Knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications.
  • Proficient in the use of PC based statistical analysis software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of failure analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of electrical contact physics.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work and lead others effectively.
  • Knowledge of automotive standards such as USCAR, GMW, IATF 16949, IEC 17025
