Job Description

West Fraser is currently seeking a Reliability Engineering Intern for Summer 2026: May-August. This individual will receive exposure to real-life challenges in the field and be provided with rewarding work allowing you to grow professionally. The successful candidate will be supervised be the Reliability Engineer and will work closely with the site Electrical Engineer, Sawmill Superintendent, Maintenance Superintendent, Millwrights, Electricians and vendors to drive out repeat failures and implement all aspects of West Fraser’s reliability program.

Duties/Focus:

- Assist in completing a heat and energy balance of the DHE system to compare the current performance of the system versus the design

-Utilize engineering drafting skills to build the process flows

-Utilize organizational and communication skills as well as provide an opportunity to familiarize with real world examples

Requirements

  • Graduate no later than December 2027 with a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
  • GPA of 3.00 or higher overall
  • Desire to perform hands-on work to equipment
  • Willing and able to perform a variety of tasks
  • Ability to successfully communicate daily with different levels of roles
