MTW is currently seeking an experienced and driven Reliability Engineer (Electrical Infrastructure) to join the Maintenance team on a full-time basis.

Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The primary responsibility for this role is to deliver optimum infrastructure and fleet performance over the asset’s lifecycle, at minimum cost.
The role will also require you to:
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve safety, reliability (MTBF) and availability and reduce costs;
• Optimise equipment maintenance strategies and tactics;
• Collaborate closely with the maintenance and planning teams to implement and generate continuous improvement initiatives;
• Managing capital projects critical to site operations, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, including development of scopes of work, contracts, schedules, and budgets;
• Applying strong knowledge of PLC systems, HV installations, wiring schematics, electrical drawings, and circuits, while developing and maintaining electrical engineering standards that meet statutory obligations;
• Conduct failure analysis on downtime and critical component failures; and
• Providing technical engineering support to maintenance and production teams, including improving electrical equipment reliability and leading fault-finding and troubleshooting activities.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:
• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience working with an open cut mining infrastructure
• Experience working with High Voltage equipment
• Experience programming and fault-finding PLCs and SCADA systems
• Strong drive and focus on continuous improvement
• High attention to detail
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Site-based experience working directly with diverse maintenance teams
• Ability to work autonomously and within a large team environment
• Experience in leading and defining maintenance strategies and tactics
• Experience in leading condition monitoring activities
• Experienced in life cycle modelling, financial analysis, and financial justification
• Detailed knowledge of CMMS systems, with specific knowledge of SAP
• Proficient in conducting statistical analysis downtime data and CMMS data
