RELIABILITY ENGINEER | PLASTICS MANUFACTURING
A growing plastics manufacturer is looking for a Reliability Engineer to help improve uptime, equipment performance, and maintenance systems inside a high-volume manufacturing operation.
This facility runs a process-driven environment with automated production equipment, material handling systems, utilities infrastructure, and continuous manufacturing processes. The team needs someone who can work directly with maintenance and operations to reduce downtime and improve long-term equipment reliability.

• Lead root cause investigations tied to recurring downtime
• Improve preventive and predictive maintenance effectiveness
• Partner closely with maintenance and operations teams
• Analyze equipment failures and performance trends
• Improve uptime, OEE, and asset utilization
• Support spare parts strategy and critical equipment planning
• Help strengthen maintenance systems, reporting, and reliability processes
WHAT STRONG CANDIDATES LOOKS LIKE
• Reliability engineering experience within plastics or industrial manufacturing
• Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience reducing downtime in production environments
• Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance systems
• CMMS experience
• Comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
• Base salary target: $100,000–$130,000 depending on experience
• Competitive benefits package
• High-visibility engineering role with operational impact
• Opportunity to help shape reliability systems within a growing manufacturing operation
• Strong exposure to manufacturing, maintenance, and process improvement initiatives
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
• Not a purely reactive maintenance position
• Not a corporate engineering desk job
• Not heavily travel-focused
• Not ideal for candidates without hands-on manufacturing exposure
If you enjoy solving equipment reliability problems, improving manufacturing uptime, and working closely with plant operations, this could be a strong fit. Confidential conversations welcome.
