Job Description

Reliability Analytics & Data Engineering covers numerous fields of data science responsibilities for the purpose of reliability modeling. The team is responsible for operation and functionality of data base, which gathers information about usage history of gas turbine key components. In downstream processes data are used for reliability modeling at the component and power plant level.

In the Data Engineer role, you will be engaged in projects related to DB programming, DB tools development, data analyses for RAM study problem solutions related to data quality including manual data reconciliation. Process oriented skills, programming and solid engineering judgement will be critical to success in this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execution with minimal guidance projects related to data base functionality and data analyses,
  • Development of code used to manage data and structured information with emphasis on SQL, PLSQL and Python
  • Engagement in Life Cycle data analyses,
  • Assure proper documentation of generated analysis consistent with engineering policies and procedures,
  • Presentation of work results in formal and informal reviews,
  • Effective cooperation with multiple EIC and global teams on project deliverables,
  • Monitor and communicate project tasks status,
  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and projects commitments,
  • Provide technical recommendations to internal customers based on field data driven models

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field of study.
  • Experience in design office environment, ideally gas turbines.
  • Self-motivated and well organized to effectively work in the office and remotely.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with global teams and customers.
  • Very good English language.

Desired Characteristics

  • Direct experience in data analysis.
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of reliability theory and statistics.
  • Life Data Analysis and/or System reliability modeling experience.
  • Understanding of power plant operation (gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, generator).
  • Python, C#, SQL (basic)/other programming language, Excel.
  • G as Power Edison Engineer, ACE Certificate.
  • Completion of LPX, Teardown Training.
