This job is responsible for optimizing the flow of epics, features, and the value delivered by a smaller Agile Release Train, such as a Solution Train. Key responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating the Solution Train ceremonies, managing dependencies, providing visibility into the health of epic and feature delivery and the overall program increment, and promoting agile principles and mindsets through coaching. Job expectations include ensuring impediments to epic and feature delivery are resolved quickly to avoid disruptions and participating in budget and resource planning. We are seeking a Business Analyst / Intake & Backlog Management Specialist to support intake processes, backlog governance, and Agile delivery across Mobile and API initiatives. This role will work closely with L1 and L2 support teams, PMO partners, room Business Analysts, Product Owners, and technology teams to ensure requests are clearly captured, prioritized, refined, and delivered with strong traceability and alignment to business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Guides and coaches leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in the Agile Release Train on Agile practices and develops their understanding of Agile principles
- Executes program increment session for release train and facilitates Agile release train ceremonies
- Provides status updates regarding Agile Release Train plans, delivery, timelines, and impediments to stakeholders and leadership while communicating within the Agile Release Train to support delivery against program commitments
- Manages risk including dependency management, impediment removal, and compliance with Enterprise Change Management and other policy requirements
- Measures Agile Release Train delivery, maturity, and performance and reviews the metrics with the Agile Release Train to identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborates with the product management team and ensures the program has a healthy product and program backlog
- Defines norms and agreements for the Agile Release Train and enforces the agreements
- Partner closely with L1 and L2 teams to manage intake, triage requests, clarify issues, and ensure accurate handoff into delivery processes.
- Own and manage the backlog by reviewing incoming requests, refining requirements, prioritizing work, and maintaining visibility into status and dependencies.
- Collaborate with PMO teams and room Business Analysts to align intake items with project plans, delivery timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting documentation for Agile delivery teams.
- Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, refinement sessions, and Agile ceremonies by ensuring stories are well-defined and ready for development.
- Apply Mobile and API domain knowledge to assess request impact, identify dependencies, and support solution discussions with technical teams.
- Use JIRA and Agile planning tools to create, update, track, and report on epics, features, user stories, defects, and delivery progress.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve requirement gaps, blockers, priority conflicts, and production support escalations.
- Maintain strong traceability from intake through delivery, ensuring business objectives, acceptance criteria, and implementation outcomes are aligned.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working in intake management, L1/L2 support processes, backlog management, or Agile business analysis roles.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, story writing, and acceptance criteria definition.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA for backlog tracking, issue management, reporting, and Agile planning.
- Working knowledge of Mobile applications and API concepts, including request/response flows, integrations, dependencies, and production support considerations.
- Ability to work closely with PMO, Business Analysts, Product Owners, developers, QA teams, and support teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to organize competing priorities, manage multiple intake items, and drive clarity in ambiguous situations.
- Experience documenting requirements, process flows, impact assessments, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting technology delivery in financial services, digital channels, mobile platforms, or API-driven environments.
- Ability to identify and mitigate project risks
- Proficiency in reporting and presenting project status to leadership
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Familiarity with production support workflows, incident/request triage, change management, and release coordination.
- Experience working with distributed teams and coordinating across business, operations, and technology stakeholders.
- Knowledge of reporting dashboards, Agile metrics, dependency tracking, and executive status updates
