Lead the flow of value across Auckland Council’s Agile Release Train (ART). As Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will coordinate multiple Agile teams, facilitate PI Planning events, and remove delivery obstacles to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
This senior leadership role allows you to influence planning, alignment, and delivery across a large-scale technology environment while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role supports flexible working and hybrid collaboration, giving you autonomy in how you lead your teams.

Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities
Lead preparation for and facilitate PI Planning events
Align teams and manage dependencies, risks and delivery challenges
Facilitate ART-level ceremonies including Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs and Demos
Track delivery progress and report on PI objectives and metrics
Remove impediments and support continuous improvement

You are an experienced Release Train Engineer and delivery leader who thrives in complex environments. You enjoy bringing people together to solve delivery challenges and enabling teams to perform at their best.
You will bring:
A deep knowledge of financial management, like procurement and financial forecasting
Experience in Agile or scaled Agile environments (SAFe or similar frameworks)
Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience managing delivery risks, dependencies, and planning at scale
Ability to coach teams and foster continuous improvement and a collaborative culture
