As a Release of Information Supervisor you’ll contribute to our success in the following ways:

  • Provides direct supervision and support to Release of Information Specialist(s), including training, coaching, performance evaluation, and workload management
  • Oversees daily ROI operations to ensure requests are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements
  • Oversees and monitors performance of outsourced ROI vendors, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and regulatory standards
  • Conducts quality assurance reviews of released records and ROI workflows to identify trends, risks, and process improvement opportunities
  • Ensures proper validation of legal authority and authorization for the release of protected health information
  • Collaborates with Compliance, Legal, HR, and Operations on investigations, audits, litigation holds, subpoenas, and regulatory inquiries
  • Develops, implements, and maintains ROI policies, procedures, and training materials
  • Ensures accurate tracking, documentation, and retention of ROI-related correspondence and records
  • Provides educational support to Datavant team members, as needed to assist with navigation of Elara Caring’s EMRs.
  • Promotes compliance with privacy regulations and other regulations related to proper and timely release of medical records. .

What is Required?

  • Requires reading, writing, and math skills normally obtained from a high school diploma or GED.
  • Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in medical records, release of information, health information management, regulatory, or compliance functions.
  • Experience overseeing third-party vendors and managing performance expectations preferred.
  • RHIT, RHIA, CHPS, or similar HIM/compliance certification preferred but not required

You will report to the Senior Vice President of Investigations and Privacy Officer
