
To acquire and maintain long term relationship with Corporate Banking Clients, understand their banking needs and work with other internal stakeholders in providing the client and prospective clients timely and appropriate Corporate Banking solutions that are relevant to the client whilst meeting profit and strategic objectives of the bank and comply to all policy and regulatory requirements.
Assume primary responsibility for understanding the client’s business at a strategic, tactical and operational level
2. Spend a minimum of 75% of available time visiting and engaging with customers and targets
3. Structure credit facilities to address customers needs and prepare/review credit proposals
4. Monitor and ensure customers’ compliance with credit agreements
5. Present to and defend proposals before the Credit Committee
6. Negotiate investment and assets rates with customers within limits set by the bank to ensure maximum profitability to the bank
7. Monitor the portfolio performance against monthly/quarterly/annual plans
8. Stay abreast of trends (positive/negative) in these sectors and recommend/advise into client strategies and solutions .
9. Focus on sales origination, revenue realization and retention to achieve revenue goals
10. Drive product agnostic cross selling and wallet share goals through execution of account plans
11. Work with product partners to manage overall client relationships and provide a wide range of solutions
12. Ensure client relationships and proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards
13. Closely monitor client portfolio risk with appropriate and timely escalation of issues
14. Take responsibility for managing and participating in RFPs, tenders and pitches
15. Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant industry trends, regulations and policies for other teams across Access Bank
16. Conduct regular reviews and analysis of the clients’ profitability and ensure compliance to Bank’s risk policy.
17. Maintain portfolio credit quality by ensuring regular credit reviews, monitoring of risk concentrations and early identification of problem situations.
18. Accountable for credit risk of customer; including developing an understanding of each customer's business risks and ensure credit limits are adhered to.
Requirements
1. Minimum of 6 years' experience within a bank, 3 years of which should have been in a business development role
2. A Degree in any discipline/qualification from a recognized institution. Relevant Masters’ degree will be an advantage
