Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire, develop, retain, and deepen relationships with Local Corporate customers.
  • Develop account plans, identify business opportunities, and grow deposits, lending, transaction banking, trade finance, foreign exchange, digital banking, and other revenue-generating products.
  • Build strong relationships with senior customer decision-makers and position Ecobank as a strategic financial partner.
  • Conduct customer visits, understand financing and transaction needs, and deliver commercially viable banking solutions.
  • Drive cross-selling, wallet-share growth, customer retention, and adoption of digital and transactional banking solutions.
  • Originate, analyse, structure, and manage quality credit facilities in line with the Bank’s credit policies and risk appetite.
  • Prepare high-quality credit proposals, financial analysis, annual reviews, and supporting documentation within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, arrears, covenant compliance, collateral, insurance, and emerging credit risks; take proactive corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions, BNR regulations, internal policies, and all applicable risk and operational controls.
  • Maintain complete and accurate customer records, credit files, call reports, forecasts, and portfolio-management information.
  • Collaborate closely with Credit, Risk, Operations, Treasury, Transaction Banking, Product, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Deliver excellent customer experience through prompt resolution of requests, complaints, and outstanding matters.
  • Own and grow the assigned portfolio, delivering agreed KPIs across deposits, risk assets, transactions, revenue, profitability, wallet share, and customer acquisition.
  • Drive the Local Corporate (LOC) value chain across key sectors and customer ecosystems, identifying opportunities to grow the Bank's share of customer business.
  • Proactively manage portfolio quality and recoveries, including monitoring PDOs/NPLs, facility utilization, repayments, collateral, insurance, conditions of approval, and recovery of past-due and written-off obligations.
  • Drive digital adoption and customer migration to the Bank's digital and transactional platforms, including OMNI Lite, OMNI Plus, POS, and Ecobank Pay.

Who We’re Looking For:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications in banking, finance, credit, or relationship management are an added advantage.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in banking or financial services.
  • At least three years of demonstrated experience in corporate and commercial relationship management.
  • Proven experience in business development, corporate credit analysis, credit origination, financial analysis, and portfolio management.
  • Strong knowledge of lending, deposits, cash management, trade finance, foreign exchange, and digital banking solutions.
  • Sound understanding of the local business environment, corporate banking market, credit risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, communication, relationship-building, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, customer focus, teamwork, and risk awareness.
