
Commercial Relationship Manager
Full-Time | Location: San Diego
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Relationship Manager to develop and manage a portfolio of commercial clients within a defined geographic territory. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering tailored deposit, lending, and treasury management solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a business development environment, understands complex commercial credit, and brings a consultative approach to client relationships. This role requires a high degree of independence, professionalism, and a strong track record in both CRE and C&I lending.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain commercial banking relationships with an emphasis on business development and client retention.
Analyze, structure, and underwrite complex commercial real estate and business loans, including construction and participation loans.
Ensure credit requests are in line with internal policies and risk standards while delivering profitable growth.
Prepare and present detailed credit memorandums with complete financial, industry, and guarantor analysis.
Actively participate in the credit process, including credit analysis, documentation review, and portfolio monitoring.
Collaborate with internal partners to identify cross-sell opportunities across banking products and services.
Serve as a referral source and connector for clients across other service lines.
Stay informed on industry trends, product updates, and regulatory changes.
Monitor and assist with resolution of credit issues and delinquencies.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, risk ratings, and documentation standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or underwriting.
Proven experience with both C&I and commercial real estate lending.
Strong credit skills and knowledge of financial spreading software (e.g., CASH, FAST, or similar).
Excellent communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and banking systems.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
