As a Relationship Manager Lead, you’ll be delivering a high quality customer experience and customer outcomes by role modelling collaboration, while helping to drive the business to build strong relationships with current and prospective clients.

You’ll be providing effective leadership to your team to deliver challenging financial targets and service standards, developing and coaching individuals to maximise their capabilities and help them succeed in their roles. As a result, you’ll create a platform for your team to become trusted advisers to our customers, delivering products and services to meet their needs through an omni-channel approach.

You’ll also be:

  • Leading the delivery of the Business Banking strategy in the local market, building relationships with enterprise and business support organisations

The skills you'll need

To excel in this role, you’ll need an entrepreneurial ability to build and grow a business, and a passion for coaching and developing people to succeed and achieve their targets.

As well as strong commercial acumen, you’ll need detailed knowledge and understanding of the SME business market, including financial, economic and market awareness.

On top of this, you’ll need:

  • The ability to motivate others to ensure a positive culture of supporting an enterprise at all levels
  • Experience of credit stewardship, Know Your Customer, Know Your Business, and regulatory and control processes
  • The ability to coach others on complex profit and loss data, balance sheet information, and management accounts
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Knowledge and experience of the Lending Standards Board principles

What else you need to know

Achieving a Certificate in Lending Skills is just one of the ways we’ll help you to thrive in your role.

A Certificate in Lending Skills is a professional qualification awarded by the Chartered Institute of Bankers that’s widely recognised across our industry, and designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills relating to the commercial lending environment in our digital age. With 18 months to complete your studies, you’ll have the ability to tailor a journey to your own individual learning needs too, which will combine self-study in the form of workbooks and e-learning, and workshops
