Relationship Executive - Global Banking — Venture Capital Relationship Team, Technology Coverage — Managing Director

  • Join JPMorgan Chase’s Global Banking business as a Managing Director on the Venture Capital Relationship Team, leading coverage of Technology-focused venture capital firms.
  • Leverage deep Technology investment banking experience to shape investor coverage strategy, originate ideas, and deliver the full J.P. Morgan platform to VC firms, General Partners, and their portfolio companies across the lifecycle.
  • Partner closely across the Commercial & Investment Bank, Private Bank, Credit, and Global Technology to drive client outcomes and execute the portfolio company coverage strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Relationship leadership
    • Lead and expand senior relationships with Technology-focused VC firms (GPs, firm leadership) across the US.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to VC firms on exit pathways, venture debt, and capital markets readiness for portfolio companies.
  • Origination and advisory
    • Apply prior Technology IB expertise to identify and originate multi-product solutions: M&A advisory, equity (IPO, follow-on, convertible), debt (IG/HY/DCM), private capital and venture/growth financing.
    • Provide sector-specific strategic insights and content (valuation, market updates, precedents, comparables) across enterprise/cloud, internet/consumer tech, fintech, AI, and applied technology.
  • Cross-platform partnership
    • Orchestrate and cross-sell the firm’s capabilities across Investment Banking, Markets, Commercial Bank (credit, treasury, payments), and the Private Bank.
  • Risk, controls, and franchise stewardship
    • Uphold regulatory, control, suitability, and reputational risk standards; ensure KYC/AML completeness.
    • Maintain disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM hygiene; contribute to team development and mentorship.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of Technology investment banking experience with a strong execution track record advising Technology companies across M&A and capital markets (IPO, follow-on, convertible, investment-grade/high-yield, and private placements).
  • Deep Technology sector expertise across key subsectors (e.g., software/SaaS, AI and data infrastructure, cloud, semiconductors, internet/consumer technology, fintech, communications).
  • Demonstrated ability to originate and lead complex, multi-product transactions; strong strategic advisory and C-suite/boardroom engagement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance and products across M&A, ECM, DCM, and private capital; familiarity with venture/growth financing structures (convertibles, preferred equity, venture debt).
  • Proven relationship-building and influencing skills with venture firm GPs, founders, CFOs, and corporate development leaders.
  • Credit acumen and experience partnering with credit and treasury teams.
  • Exceptional communication, content creation, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Completion of a recognized investment banking analyst/associate training program or bank credit training program.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and control frameworks; disciplined operating cadence and pipeline management.
  • Ability to lead in a matrixed environment and partner across lines of business to leverage firmwide resources.
  • Established network within Technology VC, growth equity, and entrepreneur ecosystems; thought leadership presence a plus.

Licensing and Regulatory

  • FINRA licenses Series 79 and 63 are required for the position; unlicensed candidates will be considered and must obtain the licenses within 90 days of start date to remain in the role.
