Job Opportunity: Locum Consultant in Rehabilitation Psychiatry
Location: South West, UK
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Full-Time / Contract

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Locum Consultant in Rehabilitation Psychiatry to join a dynamic inpatient and community rehabilitation team.

This newly created role is part of ongoing efforts to develop services in response to local needs and national initiatives aimed at improving care for individuals with complex mental health challenges. You will work with two well-established rehabilitation services that provide comprehensive care to those with some of the most complex, long-term mental health conditions, all in alignment with national guidelines and with a strong recovery-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide joint leadership alongside two current job share consultants, ensuring consistent service delivery across the rehabilitation services.
• Lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including ward rounds, Care Programme Approach (CPA) meetings, and Mental Health Act (MHA) reviews.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues to drive service innovation and improvements, ensuring the highest standards of care.
• Contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, trainees, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
• Section 12(2) MHA approval or close to completion.
