The Role

As a Rehabilitation Consultant, you’ll play a critical role in supporting Brisbane City Council employees to recover, return to work and thrive. Working within a dedicated and experienced Employee Wellbeing team, you’ll deliver end‑to‑end occupational rehabilitation and injury management services across work‑related injury and non‑work‑related illness cases. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll partner closely with employees, health professionals, leaders and key stakeholders to translate complex medical and legislative advice into practical, business‑ready solutions that support recovery, performance and Council’s Zero Harm commitment.

This is a fast‑paced, high‑impact role suited to an allied health professional who enjoys variety, challenge and influence. You’ll proactively manage complex caseloads, provide risk‑based advice, navigate workers’ compensation legislation and contribute to strategies that reduce absenteeism and improve organisational outcomes. With a strong, supportive team culture and opportunities to make a genuine difference every day, this role offers the chance to apply your expertise at scale - supporting a workforce that delivers essential services to the people of Brisbane.

To be successful you will have:

  • tertiary qualifications in allied health, rehabilitation or a related discipline, with experience in workplace rehabilitation or injury management
  • strong knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation and confidence working in a self‑insured environment
  • the ability to manage complex rehabilitation cases and proactively plan recovery and return‑to‑work outcomes
  • well‑developed communication and stakeholder management skills, including handling sensitive matters with care
  • a collaborative, solutions‑focused approach aligned to Zero Harm and positive wellbeing outcomes.
