Performs a variety of clerical and clinical tasks assisting the Rehabilitation Services Care Teams in providing outstanding patient care experiences and services. Creates and maintains a welcoming, high quality customer service environment for all patients and visitors participating in rehabilitation programs and services.
This work may vary in percentage of time per function, in location, and working schedule. Performs additional reception-related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: .8 FTE - 32 hours weekly; Monday-Friday, Clinic open 7-5:30
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current BLS- American Heart Association or American Red Cross (BLS for Health Professionals).
Exceptional customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desire to respond patiently and effectively to questions asked by patients, family, providers, and staff
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and adapt to new software; prefer experience with electronic medical record and Microsoft office- including both Word, Excel and Outlook.
Working knowledge of HIPAA guidelines with ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare personnel
Ability to organize and prioritize work independently with strong attention to detail and critical thinking
Must be able to effectively communicate in person and over the phone with a wide variety of patients (i.e., Those with speech and hearing impairments, those requiring interpreters)
Should have critical thinking skills and be able to solve problems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment includes switching between tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of post-secondary education in Health Care or Business Administration
Health Insurance knowledge and experience
Knowledgeable in Medical terminology
Healthcare setting experience, with rehab knowledge
EPIC/electronic medical record experience
Microsoft office experience
