The Rehab Team Leader will oversee elements of an Early Intervention (EI) program, including supervising other EI staff members; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local rules and laws; and providing consultation and professional development to EI team members. Provides ongoing reflective supervision and professional development to other early intervention team members; organizes and leads team meetings; troubleshoots challenges in clinical service delivery; ensures high quality service delivery that meets or exceeds federal, state, and local guidelines; ensures that service providers are informed about and competent in the use of evidence-based practices for delivery of early intervention/special education and/or service coordination. The Rehab Team Leader may also hold a small caseload of children receiving EI or early childhood special education (ECSE) services as needed to meet program needs. The Rehab Team Leader will promote the use of evidence-based practices for delivery of EI/ECSE services for children aged birth to 5 years of age who have a developmental delay, a medical diagnosis that puts them at risk for developing a delay, or a school qualification as a child with a disability. The Rehab Team Leader will ensure that other EI/ECSE team members (e.g., service coordinators, other early intervention providers) follow all applicable rules and laws under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act in order to assist families in accessing necessary services to meet the needs of the child and family. The Rehab Team Leader will coordinate with the local Family and Children’s First Council, local Early Intervention providers, local school districts, and/or the Board of Developmental Disabilities to ensure that appropriate staff members are provided to deliver all needed services. The Rehab Team Leader will closely monitor all EI/ECSE providers to ensure that they maintain 100% compliance with required federal timelines regarding timely delivery of services.

Responsibilities

30% Communicates with local partner organizations to assign and monitor caseloads, manage scheduling of clients, and respond to any requests for information or audits in a timely fashion. Maintains and audits documentation related to services, including documenting and maintaining 100% compliance with federally mandated timelines service delivery, evaluation, and reporting.

60% Provides ongoing reflective supervision and professional development to other early intervention team members; organizes and leads team meetings; troubleshoots challenges in clinical service delivery; ensures high quality service delivery that meets or exceeds federal, state, and local guidelines; ensures that service providers are informed about and competent in the use of evidence-based practices for delivery of EI/ECSE.

10% Other duties as required, including providing early intervention and/or early childhood special education services to children with or at risk for developmental delays or with a school-based disability qualification as needed to meet program needs.

Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in a specialized area of practice relevant to provision of early intervention services (e.g., speech language pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, special education, etc.)

Required Qualifications:
5 years of experience in provision of early intervention/special education to young children with disabilities required; ability to handle sensitive information required; ability to collaborate with other professionals in a team environment required; experience in Part C early intervention and Part B special education system (including IFSP and IEP development) required; current first aid, communicative disease, infant/child CPR and child abuse recognition certification and/or training within 120 days of employment required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing a team of professionals preferred. Ohio Department of Education License that confers eligibility to serve as the director of an ODE-licensed preschool special education program (e.g., teaching or administrator’s license in accordance with current preschool special education licensing rules) preferred.
