Job Description

The Rehab Services Manager supervises patient care provided within the team to ensure it is of high caliber and meets efficiency expectations. This role routinely reviews treatment schedules and staffing to ensure that there are adequate provisions for the team members to provide service as needed, or makes the necessary adjustments. This role also conducts regular team meetings for active and current communication regarding incidents, family complaint resolution, schedules, clinical needs, resources, safety, and process functions that support service provision and workflow, documentation and billing.

The Rehab Services Manager takes responsibility for maintaining the team treatment environment to desired standards. This position reviews requests for supplies, equipment needs, and if appropriate, submits to Director for approval. This position assists team members in problem solving at the most immediate patient level. This position also specifies personnel needs; selects and retains appropriately qualified staff.

The Rehab Services Manager oversees process for daily staffing and utilization of resources. This job ensures performance management tools and processes are applied consistently. This job monitors the team’s budget. This job reviews budgeted visits, and oversees expenses. This job provides initial screen for time off requests to ensure adequate coverage is available within team. This job participates in division performance improvement activities. This job also provides patient care as specified in rehabilitation therapist position description.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech & Language Pathologist
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Virginia licensure in discipline must be maintained
Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of three (3) years direct patient care experience, preferably in a similar practice setting
Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in a multidisciplinary setting
Previous experience planning and implementing care delivery strategies and services; project management; and therapy delivery systems
Experience PREFERRED:
Previous experience with managed care plans and coverage
Education/training REQUIRED:
Graduate of an accredited School of Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy
Education/training PREFERRED:
Advanced Degree in Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy from an accredited program
Independent action(s) required:
Manages and supervises assigned area/clinic seeking guidance and direction from supervisor as required.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable):
Supervises assigned staff.
Additional position requirements:
Depending on practice setting may be required to work shifts, weekends and be on-call.
