
We are seeking a Regulatory Senior Strategy Expert – Energy Trading to join our partner, who is excelling in the energy segment as they expand rapidly

Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the position is to provide an integrated interpretation of energy market regulatory, geopolitical, and market developments, and to translate their business impacts in support of the company’s strategic and commercial decision-making. A key element of the role is to perform a high-level “translator” and analytical function between regulation, business, and the market.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory and Business Analysis
Continuous monitoring and interpretation of the energy market regulatory environment (EU and domestic levels), and structured analysis of its business impacts
Translating regulatory changes into “business language,” with a particular focus on impacts on energy trading (e.g., EKR, liberalized markets, pricing and market model changes)
Comprehensive interpretation of the regulatory and market interrelations of the electricity and natural gas markets
Legal and Internal Regulatory Collaboration
Close professional collaboration with the regulatory expert of the Legal Department to align regulatory interpretations and company positions
Professional support in the development of internal regulatory positions
Geopolitical and Strategic Analysis
Continuous analysis of the energy market impacts of geopolitical and macroeconomic events
Interpretation of the business impacts of EU and global energy policy directions (e.g., energy independence, security of supply, industrial policy)
Analysis of security of supply, import dependency, and market exposure risks (e.g., gas and LNG markets)
Competitive and Market Intelligence
Analysis and interpretation of the strategic moves of competitors and market players
Structured data collection and transformation of information sets into business insights (analytical function rather than sales focus)
Monitoring industry trends and new market models (liberalization, energy service provider models)
Strategic and Scenario Analysis
Development of alternative market and regulatory scenarios and analysis of their business impacts
Preparation of executive decision-support materials in complex regulatory and market situations
Structured identification and prioritization of risks and opportunities
Operational and Organizational Expectations
Rapid understanding of the organization’s operations (within approx. 3 months) and integration into relevant processes
Effective performance in a flexible, high-pressure, and fast-changing environment
Dynamic management of priorities and handling multiple parallel strategic topics
High-level collaboration with business, legal, and executive areas
Digital and Methodological Expectations
Strong digital affinity and data-driven mindset
Openness to using AI tools and modern analytical solutions
Preparation of structured presentations and concise, decision-support communication of complex information
Application of analytical toolsets for strategic materials and executive reporting
Required Professional Background
Senior-level experience in energy market regulation and/or energy trading
In-depth knowledge of the operation of electricity and natural gas markets
Strong strategic and analytical thinking
Excellent stakeholder management skills
At least C1 level proficiency in English
