We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Regulatory Risk and Tax Manager.

Principal responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to oversee key regulatory risk initiatives including the Regulatory Runway, compliance to internal and external policies (e.g. Conflict of Interest, Information Control, etc) and AB&C Compliance across IWPB Asia

  • Drive the implementation of global policies and procedures across ASP markets (e.g. AB&C, Conflict of Interest (GPAD), Information Control, Volcker, High Risk Role framework etc) and provide advisory guidance/ act as a subject matter expert to markets as needed.
  • Proactively engage with key stakeholders (e.g. first and second line of defense and Audit) to understand and resolve risks and issues.
  • Manage the implementation of key de-risking programs and support special BRR projects to mitigate the emerging risks as they arise.
  • Continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency on how IWPB manage regulatory risk and controls.
  • Ensure efficient policy rollout and quality implementation of external regulatory changes in a timely manner by mobilising resources at the regional and market level.
  • Monitor the current and emerging risk and control environment. Lead risk read across initiatives and provide updates and escalation to senior management as needed.
  • Interpret regulations and Policy with the support of risk stewards and anticipate key problems and drive solutions. Provide policy related clarifications to markets to enable alignment across the region. Provide feedback to policy owners for possible improvements to policies.
  • Facilitate the FIM dispensation process by reviewing and recommending appropriate response to Senior Management and obtaining business approval for IWPB markets in the region.
  • Support the delivery of the Asia Culture and Conduct Programme agenda by driving initiatives and being key contact person for market champions.

Requirements

  • Experience in regulatory risk and controls; preferable background in Audit, Regulatory Compliance/ Financial Crime Risk or other Business Management roles.
  • Good analytical skill with ability to understand and interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate into business requirements.
  • Well-developed leadership skills, not just at a team level but able to engage and drive at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Good communication skills, with ability to summarise complex topics concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Good understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting the banking industry.
  • Detailed knowledge of how the organisation fits together across Global Businesses and Global Functions, and the ability to mobilise established networks to get things done.
  • Ability to drive the agenda, influence and communicate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Good understanding of customer segments/ financial services/ products across the WPB markets is preferable.
  • Self-starter, comfortable working with concepts, ambiguity and on their own initiative.
  • Broad experience of major programme or cross market/ region project management.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
