Job Description

As a New Zealand-owned bank with strong growth ambitions, we're looking for an experienced Regulatory Reporting Manager to join our Finance team on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Regulatory Reporting, you'll play a critical role in ensuring Heartland meets its regulatory obligations through the accurate and timely preparation of key prudential and financial returns. You'll support capital adequacy reporting, regulatory disclosures and compliance requirements across both the New Zealand Banking Group and the wider Banking Group, which includes Heartland's Australian banking operations.

This is a great opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a complex banking environment, working across prudential regulation, capital reporting and regulatory compliance while partnering with senior stakeholders across the business.

What you'll do

  • Support the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely regulatory submissions to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory returns in accordance with prudential and compliance requirements.
  • Calculate and support the reporting of Capital Adequacy requirements under the Banking Prudential Requirements (BPRs).
  • Contribute to half-year and year-end regulatory disclosures and financial statement reporting.
  • Support Heartland's dual regulatory reporting obligations across New Zealand and Australian banking operations.
  • Partner with business units, Finance, Treasury and Risk teams to obtain and validate information required for regulatory submissions.
  • Assist with independent reviews, regulatory audits and compliance assessments.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and support implementation of changes impacting reporting requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy and controls.
  • Support Treasury confirmation processes and provide broader assistance across the Finance team when required.
  • Assist in remediating issues and maintaining strong governance and control frameworks around reporting obligations.

Does this sound like you?

With experience in a regulatory reporting function in a bank, or regulated environment, you have strong analytical & technical skills. Able to hit the ground running, you’re happy to flex and work at pace.

You’re experienced in:

  • Accounting, audit, legal, finance or regulatory compliance.
  • Preparing regulatory, prudential or statutory reporting within a bank will be highly regarded.
  • Banking regulations, prudential standards or regulatory frameworks.
  • Capital Adequacy reporting, Basel frameworks or Banking Prudential Requirements would be advantageous.
  • Excel with strong skills and the ability to analyse and interpret complex financial and regulatory data.
