Job Description

Join Mizuho as the Regulatory Reporting Innovation & Transformation Lead!

In this role you will provide enterprise-level leadership for the design, delivery, and modernization of the firm’s regulatory reporting framework. You will be accountable for ensuring accurate, compliant regulatory reporting while driving creative, forward‑looking solutions that replace traditional, manual, or fragmented approaches with scalable, automated, and defensible designs. This position serves as a senior bridge across Regulatory Policy, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Data, and Technology, setting the strategic direction for regulatory reporting transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the strategic vision for IHC regulatory reporting, prioritizing innovative and scalable solutions over legacy or tactical fixes.
  • Provide executive oversight of regulatory interpretation and translate requirements into standardized, reusable, and platform‑driven solutions.
  • Design and build new regulatory reporting platforms including data sourcing, calculations, rule configuration, and report production.
  • Drive reduction of manual adjustments, EUCs, and reconciliations through design-led automation and data consistency.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for regulatory reporting risks, design decisions, and delivery trade-offs.
  • Partner with senior Finance, Risk, Treasury, Compliance, Audit, Data, and Technology leaders to align reporting strategy and execution.
  • Provide executive sponsorship for Agile delivery, ensuring regulatory rigor, documentation, and controls are embedded by design.
  • Develop high-performing teams and foster a culture that challenges traditional regulatory reporting approaches while maintaining regulatory defensibility.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Deep expertise in IHC regulatory reporting frameworks, governance, and supervisory expectations.
  • Proven experience driving innovative, non‑traditional regulatory reporting solutions in highly regulated environments.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across Finance, Risk, and Technology without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging senior management and regulators.

The expected base salary ranges from $200k-$280k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
