Department Overview
The Underground Program organization is working to reduce wildfire risk every day as we underground 10,000 miles of distribution lines. We are responsible for working across all internal teams and engaging external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to support successfully meeting our goals and reducing wildfire risk in our hometowns. We work in an exciting and fast-paced environment.
The Program Manager manages regulatory aspects of program implementation and ensures efficient and compliant operations for the Undergrounding Regulatory Strategy team. The team is responsible for:
- Leading the management and coordination of regulatory filings, comments, and data requests, including discovery requests associated with the Electric Undergrounding Plan (EUP) and other System Hardening / Undergrounding proceedings, ensuring timely, accurate, and defensible regulatory submissions;
- Strategically managing the interplay of multiple System-Hardening proceedings, including the EUP, Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP), General Rate Case (GRC), Risk Assessment and Mitigation Phase (RAMP), Wildfire Mitigation and Catastrophic Events (WMCE); and
- Ensuring regulatory compliance is operationalized to enable business success.
In this role you will:
- Lead regulatory discovery activities, including the intake, assignment, tracking, quality review, and delivery of data requests and responses for the Electric Undergrounding Plan (EUP) and other System Hardening proceedings. Coordinate with subject matter experts, legal, regulatory, and leadership stakeholders to ensure responses are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Confirm regulatory compliance requirements are operationalized with sufficient business controls, supporting evidence, assumptions and methods. Support the lean delivery and associated visual management for System Hardening commitments tracking by developing, measuring, and reporting on success of the program.
- As needed, provide summary and analysis of financial, strategic or policy impact of key regulatory proposals, pleadings, and decisions. Prepare and, if appropriate, delivers summaries, strategic briefing materials and/or recommendations to leadership, partner organizations, and regulators (via memos and/or PowerPoints).
- Maintain knowledge of key program, operational, cost, and regulatory issues. Keep well-informed of trends, issues and developments in the industry. Identify and maintain strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners.
Disclosure:
PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.
The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Pay Range:
- Minimum: $129,00
- Midpoint: $168,00
- Maximum: $207,00
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the management, coordination, tracking, and delivery of regulatory data requests and responses. Partner with subject matter experts, legal, regulatory, and leadership stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, complete, and defensible responses to regulatory inquiries and associated data requests across System Hardening proceedings.
- Support the development and coordination of relevant standards, policies and procedures, as needed, including the targets and objectives governance standard and procedures for the EUP, web remediation requirements, etc.
- Confirm regulatory compliance requirements are operationalized with sufficient business controls, supporting evidence, assumptions and methods.
- Support the lean delivery and associated visual management for System Hardening commitments tracking by developing, measuring, and reporting on success of the program.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in business.
- Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent
Desired:
- Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
