The Regulatory Compliance Officer plays a key role in safeguarding Ryt Bank’s regulatory integrity by providing independent oversight, trusted advisory, and forward‑looking regulatory insights. This role partners closely with Management, the Board, business teams, and regulators to ensure the Bank operates in line with regulatory expectations while enabling responsible innovation and sustainable growth.

Your Role at Ryt Bank:

Regulatory Oversight & Advisory

  • Provide meaningful, independent, and objective oversight over Management and the Board of Directors, while delivering reasonable assurance on regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on the applicability and interpretation of regulatory requirements, recommending appropriate approaches and actions to meet regulatory expectations.
  • Work closely with business units and control functions, including Risk and Legal, to guide regulatory matters and support new product and initiative development.
  • Establish, maintain, and periodically review Compliance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with applicable regulatory requirements, including reviewing and validating policies and procedures owned by other business units.

Regulatory Change Management & Compliance Risk

  • Monitor regulatory developments to identify new, evolving, or emerging compliance risks.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up‑to‑date regulatory trackers, covering policy documents, guidelines, supervisory communications, and regulatory correspondences.
  • Proactively manage and mitigate compliance risks through gap assessments, and the execution of periodic compliance reviews, validations, and testing.

Compliance Reporting

  • Prepare and present periodic compliance reports to Management Committees and the Board of Directors.
  • Highlight key compliance matters, regulatory expectations, and significant developments, including status updates and progress tracking.
  • Deliver insightful trend analysis to support informed decision‑making by stakeholders.
  • Provide forward‑looking regulatory anticipation, including early assessments of new, upcoming, or revised regulations that may impact the Bank’s operations.

Compliance Culture & Conduct

  • Foster a strong compliance culture and conduct mindset across the organisation.
  • Design and deliver targeted compliance training and awareness programmes, through classroom sessions, online modules, or curated learning engagements, tailored to relevant stakeholder groups.

Regulatory Engagement

  • Maintain open, transparent, and constructive relationships with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and other relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate and manage regulatory engagements to ensure that all regulatory requests are addressed accurately, comprehensively, and within required timelines, with appropriate consultation across teams.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 to 12 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services. Relevant compliance‑related professional certifications or accreditations are an added advantage.
  • Strong capability in interpreting, applying, and operationalising regulatory requirements applicable to banking, with experience engaging regulatory authorities and/or prior exposure within a regulatory body.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex regulatory issues, formulate well‑considered solutions, and manage multiple regulatory workstreams concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
