Job Purpose

The Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for auditing and evaluating mortgage loan files to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory, investor, and rating agency requirements. This role examines loan documentation against program guidelines, identifies and documents exceptions or deviations, and validates data discrepancies flagged by compliance analysts. Additional responsibilities include reviewing incoming trailing documents and client/seller rebuttals, managing workload assignments directed by a Team Lead, and meeting defined production standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure residential mortgage loan packages contain all necessary documentation required to formulate a complete assessment.
• Gather regulatory compliance data elements from the loan file for capture in the due diligence review system.
• Submit loan data to Mavent to perform regulatory compliance calculations.
• Review and address compliance exceptions and failures identified from Mavent and determine validity of results by comparing input versus documentation error.
• Validate all exceptions and update with the pertinent facts supporting the finding(s).
• Confirm all data discrepancies and note the source document(s) and circumstance(s) when appending comments.
• Work loan assignments based on the instructions from the project Team Lead/Business Analyst.
• Adhere to minimum production requirements as communicated from the project Team Lead.
• Monitor all communication channels (Outlook, Teams, Phone) for company updates/announcements and requests from your colleagues/Team Lead.

Knowledge and Experience

• 3+ years residential regulatory compliance experience.
• Knowledge of TRID and RESPA LE/CD requirements.
• Strong background in the use of computer programs used to review mortgage loans and standard knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite.
• Ability to manage a pipeline of loan files
• Demonstrate consistent attention to detail
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
